I would love to get back into daily bible reading, and I want you to join me! I have always felt like my spirit is truly nourished when I not only tap into my memory bank to retrieve scriptures, but I physically go through the act of reading the Bible on a regular basis. I will make weekly posts with a list of suggested chapters and scriptures to read each day. During the week, feel free to make comments regarding what you have read. I will do the same. Prior to each reading session, I like to pray for clarity.
This is what I will read for the week of 10/21-10/27*:
- Day 1 – 10/21: Genesis 1-3 ♥
- Day 2 – 10/22: Genesis 4-7
- Day 3 – 10/23: Genesis 8-11
- Day 4 – 10/24: Genesis 12-15
- Day 5 – 10/25: Genesis 16-18
- Day 6 – 10/26: Genesis 19-21
- Day 7 – 10/27: Genesis 22-24
*For your reference, I am using the reading plan titled ‘Biological’ on www.biblegateway.com.
Today’s quote of the day has a scriptural reference. You don’t have to read the bible to apply this scripture to your life, although I welcome you to do so.
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” I Corinthians 10:13 (King James Version)
The reason why I feel this scripture is significant is because it gives hope where there might not be any, otherwise. So we all know what temptation is. I believe it plagues our society. As the scripture states, you aren’t being tempted by anything but what is common to “man”…basically everyone. We are being told here that God won’t allow us to be tempted to such an extent that we are incapable of getting out of our situation; therefore, we are able to withstand all circumstances that come our way, through God’s grace. Wow. I’m so thankful for that!
